ELCON Members

ELCON is an association of industrial consumers of electricity who:

bulletare approved by an ELCON Board of Directors

 

ELCON is the national voice of industrial electricity consumers.

bulletELCON participates in important state and federal legislative and regulatory arenas where much of the competitive change now coming to utilities originates. ELCON has forced the pace of change to accelerate.
bulletELCON monitors federal/state linkages to seek opportunities to advocate competitive policies and to intervene quickly against anti-competitive policies and practices.
bulletELCON networks with state industrial groups, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, and other influential organizations involved in formulating electricity policies.
bulletELCON advocates pro-competition legislative policies before Congress.

 

ELCON is a source of technical and legal expertise.

bulletPublishes widely disseminated position and analytical papers which address such issues as transmission access and pricing, reliability, regional transmission organizations, standard costs, market power, and other important issues related to electric industry restructuring.
bulletProvides member training and education in many complex and technical regulatory issues that confront large electricity buyers.
bulletAllows members to work with their peers tracking trends and developing strategies and positions for competitive change.
bulletOffers members opportunities to make personal contacts with state and federal regulators, utility and independent power executives, NERC and government officials, and others who can help companies achieve their corporate energy strategies.
